Hello again cute outfit! You know when you actually try to look nice when your coworkers tell you you actually got dressed up for once. Yep, a coworker noticed that I actually tried to look nice...I have to mention that it was a "he". They never notice anything so I must have really been looking a fool for a "he" to say something!
Scarves are my friend in the winter (it helps keep my long neck warm) but I've noticed a lot of blogs with these thinner summer scarves. Even with the 100 degree weather I wanted to try it out and not only was it a fun addition it was surprisingly not too hot.
ps. i did not wear the heels to work because i unfortunately can't so i had black flats with the cool ankle strap (they're cool for flats i swear!) but i wanted to take the pic with a cute heel on since i never get to wear them! Oh and my good friend took my pics for me!

High Five Friday
Did this week fell like it was NINE days long! Seriously, TGIF!
Here's what helped me get through the week.
1. Figuring out a new haircut. I have a hair appt tomorrow and I'm excited to switch things up! Anyone else think hair appt are the best?!
2. Putting a little color back into my daily work ensemble. Fun colors helped (maybe a little) me get through the days.
4. Enjoying fun summer nights in the SLC.
Don't forget to link up with Lauren over at From My Grey Desk and tell everyone your favs from the week.

Summer Lovin'
So it's been a while since I've done an outfit post. So here we go.
I like summer I don't love it. I know, I know it's weird. Most people think I'm crazy, but the way I see it fall is the bet season. It's still nice out but you need some layers, no jackets yet. There's college football and tailgating. Then winter is right after, which since I've moved to Utah (and only since I've lived in Utah) has come to be my favorite season. It's not as cold here as you would think and we do more in the winter than we do any other time of the year.
But this year I've been trying to enjoy the summer more, I've been trying to find a "summer" hobby. But I don't like to run, expecially when it's so hot, I don't bike, hike, garden. We've played tennis, golf and gotten in some pool time this year which has been fun. So if you have any ideas for summer let me know!
Anyways it's been about 100 the past few days so I thought these floral pants would bring my summer spirits up during this hot weather.

Summer Woredrobe
When I started this blog it was intended to be used to keep family updated with our going-on's since our family lives no where near us. Then it became my outlet for my training for a half marathon. Since I have been using it for expressing any and all of my current interests. For the summer I have a feeling that most outfit posts will dwindle down as the majority of my work clothes for summer will be a T-shirt and pants. My summer routine for the morning is pony tail, moisturize with SPF, then SPF, then a tinted SPF, then mascara...you get my drift. Fairly boring. (Hopefully) we will have other things going on in the summer that I can keep you updated on.
In the mean time here is an idea of how one of my more "funky" summer outfits will look.
*also I am happy to report I have officially moved my "winter"clothes and cleaned up my closet with my "summer" shirts.

The Grey....
My wild pants again! I showed these to one of my friends and she said "yuck" but I don't care I like them. I had been looking for grey pants and these are grey with a little bit of fun in them. How can you go wrong with adding Fun, right?

Winter Wear (for Spring)
Although the past few weeks were nice and getting nicer, we still have the Midwest-y weather here in Utah and there are still spring/winter mixed up days in between the nice weather. Luckily I bought a great black Coal hat which I knew I needed after I read this post from Krystal over at This Time Tomorrow. I found in when B's family was in town and am happy I did. Having to bundle up and stay warm is one thing, but keeping my head dry is a completely other. Plus we all have bad hair days and need something to help with them other than our dry shampoo and our top knots.
| typical Utah weather, it rained and snowed all day then after work was sunny! thank god |

"What I Wore"
Stripes! Who doesn't love them right now. Here I styled two striped sweaters. The first is a daytime look I wore to brunch with my hubby on Sunday. The second is a work look, I got inspiration here from Tara at Mix and Match Fashion.
I submitted these looks to Jessica Quirk for her What I Wore Stripes Challenge. She gave me the inspiration to create two different looks. Don't for get to check out her site, she has great style and can pull off the cutest outfits.

Singing the Blues
One problem I have when I shop is I want to make sure that everything I buy is versatile and something that I will use and it's not a waste of money. We've all been there, buying something you may love but not practical (like a mid-length tutu see through type skirt found at the consignment store for next to nothing that is still hanging in my closet never been worn but I had to buy is because it's SO Carrie Bradshaw) so I usually give my self the restriction of buying something that I can merge into my work clothes but also will be able to wear in other ways as well. I want to get the most wear out of my clothes because I am one to get something and then only wear it once or not at all. For instance I will find something I want but wait so long to purchase because I don't want it to be a waste. Then, I usually purchase said items when they are out of style!
Since H&M moved into SLC I have been able to find some of the best items to add to my wardrobe. It's so fun going there because they have amazing pieces that I am able to wear to work and then out in about for fun, date nights and other events. And because it's not expensive I don't ever have buyers remorse even if it's something that I may not be wearing to work or something I only want to wear for a fun event.
In saying all that I found these nice blue skinny pants at H&M for 12.95. They are amazing for work because they don't drag on the ground and are high wasted (it makes me feel skinny;) and also are good for a fun night out to give a little pop in color.

Everybody, Everywear
This months, EBEW is ... pastels! Yay..I love pastels but I realized I don't own a lot of pastel clothes! These pants are one of the only pastel things I own. I found them at The Loft during a fall sale a couple years ago. They are about one size to big but I wear them like a boyfriend style pant and are perfect for work. I always felt that pastels were so pale and didn't like them with dark colors so I usually kept it easy with white, but tried this grey color out. I have to say I am happy with how it turned out.

Mixin' It Up (Stripe Wise)
One of my must haves for any (and I mean any) outfit for any (again, really any) situation, work, date, movie, flying, is comfort. I am so concerned about comfort anytime I am thinking about planning an outfit, will I be warm enough, comfortable enough, will I be able to walk for more than a few blocks comfortably (see that) or will I be sitting mostly and can wear the cute, uncomfortable shoes.
Since I got my promotion I have a more limited wardrobe selection for my work clothes. There are rules, no skirts/dresses, no heels over 2 in and I work in an environment where I need to be able to get dirty and be OK with it. Now even with these restrictions I still love to mix it up at work.
So in saying that I am going to show a few things I have come up with to still look cute at work even with restrictions. I love reading fashion blogs but the ones I love and read so much I see it's those who can wear the cutest dresses (makes me jealous), high heels so I am just wanting to show what I come up with for a work environment like mine and still want to use some of these cute ideas for a daily outfit.
First off I have been seeing a button up under a sweater, or something like it. In the past I have tried this but it just makes me look so lumpy. Not a good look. Also I have noticed people mixing up prints. Here is what I came up with for a quite day look. (sorry the pics are terrible, they are in my office bathroom)
ps. I was concerned about this outfit before I went to work because my wrist were going to be bare. (again I harp on the comfort thing) and I am glad that I went with it because I was completely comfortable all day.

| i'm happy that this didn't make me look "lumpy" luckily it is because the shirt i wore over the button up is thick enough and the button up is a very sheer (thin) material |

Everybody, Everywear
I'm so excited to be doing my very first Everybody, Everywear today. I saw the link today on Twitter and found out it is GREEN! So it's meant to be as I wore my Army Green cargo skinny's to work today!
