March Already!!

It has been a while, but B and I have been busy (sort of..) with work, friends in town and of course our favorite winter activity...snowboarding!

B's friends came into town last week and spent quite a few days snowboarding last weekend. It was fun to see him with all his friends from before I knew him, but made me miss mine! Hopefully once we are done with the the couple of wedding's we have coming up, I can plan a couple of more trips to visit friends. We do have a NoDak 4th of July planned this year again. It is B's 10 year high school reunion this year, and it should be a good time.

Other than snowboarding, work and trying some new recipes not much else is new.

New Year Resolution

Ben and I decided that we are going to save money this year...really.
We're trying to actually put some cash away to save up for a rainy day, or maybe a house. To do this Ben bought me a new book to read, "Bitches on a Budget." It gives advice on what to do to cut back on your daily routine, splurges and when it is OK to really spend money. I have attached a link to the side of by blog page to link to the Web site, which also has great money saving tips on it.
We have been doing really well saving money. No big shopping sprees for me every weekend like I was doing in the summer and we have really cut down on going out to eat, which in turn has given me more opportunity to try new meals in the kitchen. I am even more lucky that Ben is not picky and will eat anything that I make!
Since we (and by "we" I mean "I") have been cooking more, this Valentines Day we are going to stay in and make a meal together! I am excited to try out a new recipe with my Benji and (hopefully) enjoy a new creation.

I thought I would start this post out with a little quote I read. It helps me cope with the big Viking's loss. Last week was not a great one in our household. After the Sunday game, and having to come to work and deal with everyone asking, Ben was fairly down in the dumps! But he powered through and had a great four day work week and took Friday off to go snowboarding with some friend. We were also able to all go up and snowboard on Saturday, and spent a beautiful, sunny day up in the mountains taking in the sights. We then tried out a new sushi place near our house that had amazing food!
Ben and I spent the day being lazy on Sunday. Watching movies, cleaned a little and then more movies! Always a great end to a great weekend, but I can not believe how fast it all went by!
Last weekend, Ben and I went up to Park City Resort on Saturday night to watch the Pipe contest. We were able to watch some great riders with some good friends. It got a little cold out and the weather wasn't great, so Ben and I left early to get him, only to be stuck in the canyon for over and hour!
Ben's birthday was last week as well. We didn't do much as Ben wanted to go to the gym and watch a movie, so I got us pizza and flicks and we stayed in! It was a nice birthday as he got some great gifts from his family!
