Update From A Mad Runner

So I know it's been a while when my avid reader (yes you Heather) texts me about me missing a post. Thanks for keeping me up to date. I've been wanting and planning on writing a new post for a while now, but with my comfortable couch and movies B and I usually end up watching TV together after our workouts. Yeah, actually that's the reason I haven't written a post in a while, I'm too tired AFTER my workouts to do it.

Well, I actually re-joined the gym. Yep I did it. Finally. I have been putting it off for a while now, but what I kept realizing is that I love doing yoga and if that's all I use my $40/month for it's still way cheaper than a yoga studio. Plus I do other classes as well so it's even better. Also B and I can go to the gym together like we did before. I kick his ass in HORSE the other day too, that's always fun.

I haven't been doing much cardio lately as I have this stupid head cold that I can't get rid of. I am hoping if I don't do too much strenuous work it'll help make it go away, but I was walking on the treadmill last night and ran a mile and I felt OK, so maybe that is not the right policy. So maybe I'll do more cardio starting this week.

My one fan also reminded me that I haven't written a Friday post for a while. Yeah I know, I guess it's cause I've noticed I don't have many new pics on my phone and I like to write it when something happens during the week and I have a picture to go with it. I mean who likes to read a blog post with out any pics? This girl doesn't. Anyways, to my reader who will still read this full post even with out any pictures, thanks for the motivation to get this done. And I'm excited to see you next week!

Update From A Mad Runner

Good week for workouts!
After taking a break for a week it felt nice to get back on it. Actually, let's be honest I hate working out and doing cardio but I do like to look good in my shorts for the summer.

Also I have been researching how to get rid of cellulite.  As it sounds it seems like there might be nothing I can do about it but can possibly try to limit how bad it gets. Lots of cardio with intervals of walks, jogs, sprints and some leg lifts are what I was doing all week and during work.

Anyone have any other ideas on what to do to keep cellulite off legs!?

ps. i took today off to enjoy "friends" and some arby's much needed

Update From A Mad Runner

Hey! It's been a really long time since I've written this post! So Welcome Back....to me as well I suppose.

Since I was in St. Louis for the majority of May and then on a "vacation" in North Dakota for about a week and a half after that I was not eating the best or keeping up with my workouts.
Well...I'm back at it and I have some stuff coming up to keep me motivated. In about a month I have a bachelorette party (yay!) in Vegas and B bought me some new suits for the occasion (and rest of the summer I suppose).
This week I'm been doing great with my workouts! I couldn't be more proud of myself. Even though I wasn't running on a schedule while I was gone I was able to workout and run a few times. Thankfully it must have helped because I was able to run 3 miles or so and since I've picked it back up it hasn't been full on torture so that helps.
I also decided to change my diet in some easy ways to help with weight loss. I'm going to cut out red meat, limit my chicken and fish and I have been having a smoothie for dinner each night. Surprising it has been very good and filling and it hasn't felt like a big change! I'm so proud of myself (it's hard to say that for me so this is a big deal!)

Anyways, Kudos to me and I hope your workouts and summer has been great as well!!

Update From A Mad Runner

Back on Track!

Got my running groove back this week. I don't mean I'm breaking records I just mean I actually ran all my "running days" and did some other workout the rest. (not Friday, Friday I ate cheese dip, cookies and a lot of wine) I even up'd the anty this week and added some extra miles. Good for me and my summer bod trying to get back on the scene!
Today was the last of my "running days" B and I had a great day we did some FaceTime with my sister and nephew, coffee, lunch date and then a movie! After all that I have to say I was beat, I took a nice quick cat nap and then B and I headed down to the workout room. I went there contemplating how many miles I would run, I told B that I wasn't sure how long I would make it but I decided to just work toward 3 miles, after 3 I decided to do another 1/2 mile, but after that what's another 1/2 mile to make it an even 4 miles! Yay for me I did it and I think I realized that after about 3 miles for me I get my rhythm going and can go for-EVA! (not really)

In other news, I had a fun week hanging out with some friends a couple nights, drinking wine and catching up. B and I also had a great Saturday hanging out with our pups. We found a new little dog park close to our house and we got our morning coffee, headed over and watched the dogs chase each other and other dogs. Asia is a goofball to say the least! They had a ton of fun and had to get a bath when we got back from all the wrestling and running around!

Update From A Mad Runner

"I Ain't Superman"

UUGGHHH....
that's how I felt Monday. I was pumped from last week and finally catching up in my workout routine. Sunday we went snowboarding and I was ready on Monday to do weights and some cardio and stretch. But when I woke up with my guts feeling like they were trying to escape my body I knew the rest of the week was going to be all downhill from there (and not in a good way). Now I haven't had the stomach flu for quite a while, but I don't remember excruciating back pains being part of it. I don't know what it was but my back killed me all day and through Wednesday!  I was convince that I had meningitis. But I suppose when you are laying on the floor basically hallucinating that your legs don't work, it's a normal reasoning. Tuesday I finally got rid of my fever and felt like I got the shit beat out of me. I still couldn't eat much more than soup and mac and cheese (nothing new there) but my stomach was still cramping up. Damn it sucks.

Wednesday and Friday I reasoned I better do something (definitely not running) so B came home after work and we did some cardio workouts together. I finally felt good enough to do some spinning and weights. I hadn't been up to eating much the rest of the week so I didn't want to over do it.
Sunday I got some motivation and actually ran...outside (only because there was a guy in our clubhouse running and watching hockey). I was motivated, I don't know why (actually I do, it's because I didn't do a damn thing on Saturday) and decided to grab by ipod and hit the pavement. The first half mile was a breeze, then the stomach cramps started. Luckily I was listening to my snowboard mix and that Willie Nelson and Snoop Dogg song came on and I knew that the 3 miles I started out to do was not going to happen. I decided not to push myself too hard, from being sick, and let's be honest, me..running..outside was already an accomplishment. Although I have no idea how far I actually made it, I feel good and have to realize that I will never enjoy running so I should just take it for what it is and do what I can.

Update From A Mad Runner

So, I'm back at it, and really trying. No....really.
I made it through my three whole days of running this week and did some other form of workout the rest. No more, no less. Yay.
When I think about working out, for instance, when I know I need to run X amount of miles or do 30 minutes of another form of workout or weights, it really doesn't sound so bad does it. But when I actually get changed or start running or doing the workout it does.
I was having a conversation with a co-worker this week about working out. She asked me what I did. I realized when ever I talk about working out it seems like no big deal. I mean really it doesn't. When I know I have to run a couple miles or so I know it's only going to take 30 minutes or less. So why do I despise it so much? I mean, it's really the quickest possible workout you can chose to do and you use almost all your leg and butt muscles (toning) and then you burn all the crap you ate during the day away. It should be something I can't wait to do. But I don't. To me all I do when I'm working out is thinking about all the other things I could be doing. Cooking, cleaning what I forgot to do that day. It drives me crazy and I can't focus on it. But there were times when I would go to the gym and just laid in the locker room watching TV, just wasting time. Then we got to talking about how you need to find something you like to do. It makes it easier. I know this, I've experienced this, I found things I love to do. But do I do them? No. I loved doing yoga at the gym, and then when we bought our house I quit. I was rarely going, I was doing the P90X workouts at home and I was running outside. So when we moved we had a clubhouse with a treadmill and weights, so I just dropped my membership. I haven't done yoga since (in a class form). You all know yoga at home is just not the same. So why when I found something I love I still quit it? I haven't found anything else that I love yet that I actually want to stick with? (I do like to do the Nike Fit work outs, but I don't ACTUALLY ENJOY them like I did yoga). All I need to do is get my membership back and it's still more cost effective to do that then go to any other yoga class around town, but I don't. I make up reasons about not going, like the times don't work and then I would go home after work and then probably get distracted and not go. Then it's a waste of money.

WOW, that's a lot of excuses to not workout.

Update From A Mad Runner

*Muffin Tops...

So last week was bad. I didn't elaborate in last weeks post, but I can officially confirm that the saying about working out for three weeks can be lost in three days. From last weeks visitors I didn't do two days of running and it kicked me where the sun don't shine this week. Because I ate about half my body weight in food and drank more wine in three days then I did the last three months I gave myself the luxury of redoing last week's schedule of workout. I mean come on, bumping up to 4 miles after I about died on the 3.5 mile and that was over a week ago!
Monday started out OK, of course when its just stretching and weights I can manage that, but my 2.5 mile run I was supposed to do Tuesday ended up being only a 2 mile run and me with spaghetti rubbery legs. Terrible. Seriously terrible. But I am happy to report with the help of Big Rich Texas and their arguing and the cupcake decorating I made it through 2.5 miles and walked .25 cool down. I even did weights and abs, oh hell yeah!
Saturday we did our morning workout and then spent the day doing errands. We finalized out adoption for Asia (yay!) got our coffee and then we (Finally!) went down to check out City Creek Mall. B was there last weekend with his mom but I am a City Creek virgin no more! There are amazing views in all directions really showing how beautiful Salt Lake really is. Finally something that will hopefully be a tourist attraction.

The rest of the week was normal as usual. Wednesday I was able to exercise my arms and sweet tooth with vegging out and eating ice cream with B (not B just me). We had our weekly date night and finished the American Pie movie series/ With the new American Reunion coming out this weekend we wanted to watch the originals. We forgot how great those movies are and B and I realized it's because we grew up with these people! We were in high school when they were, college with them and now marriage.  Saturday we went to the new Reunion showing and loved it! I would recommend it!

Oh and by the way...Happy Easter! We just had an amazing meal with some great friends.
A real Feaster Easter

in our sunday best to get coffee

peep kabobs

we even got easter treats! just like at home, what an amazing day

*when running this week i was watching Big Rich Texas and a girl worked at a cupcake shop, the other girls were making fun of her and her "muffin top" it was a little bit of motivation for me this week

Update From A (lazy) Mad Runner

Learned one thing this week. Visitors=no running! B's mom and step dad were in town this week and as hard as I may (maybe an exaggeration) I was not able to keep up with my 10K training schedule!
Monday-Wednesday was on track with a few cardio workouts, a 2.5 mile run and some weights. Thursday we met the fam after work for dinner and didn't have time to workout after work, or in the morning as you know I can not get up before 6:45 a.m. to do ANYTHING! But regardless how the workout/running went this week we had an amazing time with B's family going out to eat as some new restaurants and a day in Park City.

In other news, B and I have some great news. I would like to introduce you to our newest member of the Schmidt family...Asia! We found Asia at the outlet mall in PC where they have an adoption center. Both B and I saw her right when we walked in and knew it was time to get another dog. So far, only a few little accidents, a great kennel dog and Izzie isn't TOO jealous!

she's a black version of Izzie
Well I guess I could count the time we spent walking up and down Main Street on PC and at the outlets could be considered cardio, right?

Update From A Mad Runner

Oh yeah! Up and at um..10:30 and I've already done my 3.5 miles run...outside. Now I'm going to make some protein pancakes recipe found via Leigh Ann's blog. Then The Hunger Games this afternoon. I am so excited to see this movie I can hardly stand it. If you haven't read this series please do. It's so great.

Anyways, in workout news I have been kicking my 10k training in the ass this week! So proud of myself!
Spring as officially sprung here in SLC. It was so nice out this week I think I even got a little bit of a tan/uneven burn on my neck this week! Although I have been doing good at DOING my workouts, I am not proud of myself as I didn't even run outside in the nice weather! I know, so lame, I used the excuse of my dead Ipod and my dead Garmin and ran inside at our clubhouse. The only positive thing was I was the only one in there and I sweat my ass off. Also I got to see that VH1 has one of the funniest shows on TV right now. Couples Therapy. I was laughing so hard just at the cast I can only imagine how ridiculous this show is going to get. Honestly I probably won't be able to watch it anymore but it was a good diversion from my workout for the day.
Saturday for my cross-train day B and I hit up Snowbird Ski Resort for a morning of spring skiing and some $2 dollar beer. I was so warm and the first run was ICY as can be! I almost stopped after the first run but thankfully B talked me into doing some more runs.  I guess the saying "spring skiing spells I-C-E" is completely true. We were able to get quite a few runs in quickly as it was so EMPTY there! I loved it. Then we had a few beers and enjoyed the sun after the slopes. Honestly I think this weekend was my last for the year so happy it was a great day with B!

snapshots from Snowbird via Instagram
ps. i like to add a song on my workout write ups, i actually googled spring songs and this elvis one popped up...who doesn't love a little elvis

Update From a Mad Runner

Testing One Two Three...

This week I decided to start doing a training for a 10K. At first I thought since I have been doing fairly well at a running schedule this winter I could probably start with the Hal Higdon: Intermediate training but realized that it was not for me when you start out on your easiest day with a nice 3 miler. Um..no thanks. So I stuck with the Novice training. To tell you the truth I was excited to get back into a schedule of running/workouts/lifts. Now do not misinterpret this that I was "excited" to run, cause I wasn't, especially when the training still started out with a 2.5 mile run.
Since I had a friend come into town on Tuesday I switched my Monday and Tuesday workouts around so I could get a workout in before my friend arrived. As you all know there was not way in hell that I was going to be able to get up and run on a Tuesday morning! To be honest (very honest, no not THAT honest) I actually enjoyed my first 2.5 mile run. It was a nice day out, windy as hell, but nice. Even better when I can wear my husbands Garmin and run exactly 2.5 miles. I used to just use MapMyRun.com and figure out how far I needed to run, but ever since we got the Garmin I can be more exact. Before this I always figured to run to a certain point and run back and it usually was a stop light, but that was not very exact. Now I know to run 1.25 miles from my house I have to run about 10 yards past an intersection, I bet everyone on that bus stopped at the red light was like "didn't we JUST see this girl run the other way and now she's already coming back?". Yep you did, it's called being precise.
The weather as been similar to NoDak and I felt like I was in track training again with the luke warm crazy big wind gusts kicking my ass, but it also gave me motivation. Honestly the first .50 of the mile was the hardest and then I was able to get into a nice rhythm. I was nervous at first 1. because of the wind, it kicked my ass the first .25 miles and I didn't think I could go on and 2. I had been running on the treadmill in our workout room and was only getting about 1-1.5 miles in under 20 minutes. Either the Britney Spears play list really gets me in a groove or I have been a BTS (big time SLACKER).
me and my bestie before a night on the town. so much fun!
The rest of the week I was able to follow the workout fairly well I even mixed in TWO workouts in ONE! Holla! Right now I still have yet to do my big 3 mile run, I might have had too much fun the past couple nights! Wish me luck!!

High Five Friday

This is my first link up with Lauren from My Grey Desk. I've been following her for a while and decided this week I am going to partake in her High Five Friday link up.

1. My bestie is in town visiting. It's been almost a year since I've seen her and we pick up where we left off.
cute old pic! miss these times

2. The beautiful weather! Every day they say rain, but we are getting sun! So nice.

3. I started a 10K training and ran for the first time outside this week, hence my happiness about the weather.

4. New floral pants from H&M! Such a steal at $15!

5. NCAA March Madness! Need I say more!

Update From a Mad Runner

As I sit here writing this I have the SOREST side abs EVER! I am on a mission to be able to get into shape and stay in shape without having a gym membership. I want to prove to myself that I am able to stick to a workout with out having to pay every month for it. After doing that class last week I know that this is something I can do.
But, last week was a little low point. I think I only made a few days with the Nike Fit workouts and cardio. My hardest workout was probably when I did a quick workout involving a little of everything I know. Pulling out the stair workout again I mixed in arms, abs, legs bur-pees, but incorporated basically any movements I could think of.  Honestly running stairs made me sweat more than any other workout I did!
So anyways, B went snowboarding again this weekend. Of course, but it is getting towards the end of the year, it's getting warm out and spring skiing is on the way. I will have to see how many more times I can go...probably not to many. We had great intentions to get out there on Sunday but honestly with an hour less sleep and a Denny's gift card calling my name we bailed.
On Saturday, again I almost ran outside, but then decided I wanted to watch TV, so was on the treadmill. But while I was running I was thinking about how skinny my legs were when I trained for our 1/2 marathon. I thought "damn, I should do that again", then I about barfed all over because I don't really enjoy running. I remembered what B said to me a while ago, he told me to "train for a 1/2 marathon" I almost punched him in the face, but his through process was in line. He said I could just train for it and not actually do a 1/2 marathon run. So, I decided I will find a 10K training workout and do that. That way I can do the work but not necessarily have to do the run (honestly the actual run is the best part so I might just have to find a 10K to actually do!).
So, wish me luck!!

My fav photo of the week! What a stud...just doing a little research.

Update From a Mad Runner

This week was a lot of laziness. I have to be honest. I didn't want to do a whole lot and to actually be honest I fell like if I snowboard on the weekends it should be enough for me to not have to do cardio for the rest of the week. Alas I wish it were that easy.
Now I do have to say I did run both Saturday and Sunday. It was so cold out Saturday! B and I didn't go snowboarding as we knew it would be so busy and plus it was freezing out! We then laid low and went to a few movies we wanted to see. Sunday B went snowboarding and I decided to stay home. Even though I knew that it was going to be great snow I had a lot of things on my mind, all my projects I need to finish!! So I was able to run and pick up the rest of the supplies I needed, new shoes and some more protein. Yeah, I sneaked in some shoes. Since it was a beautiful day out today I thought about running outside, BUT I didn't, I think people who run outside are suckers, sorry, but you can judge me because I run on the treadmill. I did run though and ended up back in the clubhouse and enjoyed SATC marathon (seriously I've seen every episode through about 4 times in the last year and a half AND I watch them whenever they are on TV, but they still make me laugh so hard!)

On a side note I have to thank my friend for motivating me to try a new workout class called Ballet Blast. It was a combination of ballet warm up moves, a lot of hip flexor strengthening, some core, muscle, more core and stretching. It was like most of the classes I have taken at 24 Hour Fitness a small combo of SET and Yoga. Although I can not say I would do the class again or not it has me thinking if I want to rejoin 24 Hour Fitness. I really miss doing the workout classes, mostly yoga as I can not get into doing yoga at home alone. Taking that class also made me realize I would really push myself more in the group setting rather than the in my living room watching RHOA among others. But I still don't know if I want to commit to the gym again!

On another side note, B went to the Jazz game with a friend on Friday night and big win for the JAZZ vs HEAT! GO JAZZ

Update From A Mad Runner

Cardio this week has been done through snowboarding...and wow do you burn the calories! B and I took last Monday off to hit up the slopes. It was a beautiful Presidents days spent on the hill with my hunny, and boy did we have fun!

The best part of using snowboarding as cardio is when I enter the workout on My Fitness Pal app. They have snowboarding pre-entered and all you have to do is enter the minutes you are riding and (chimes and bells ring) it loads the calories burned and it's a lot!! Very rewarding for a fun day! (doesn't even seem like a workout, my fav)
I have to admit now that I am keeping track of the calories I eat I am finding myself more excited to do cardio so I can enter it into calories burned! Again, very rewarding... I love this app! Thanks Tiff for telling me about it!
end of a fun day, peace
Also exciting is this week is B's annual Snow Jam with his friends. His buddies from all over come to SLC to go skiing and snowboarding for a few days and reminisce about the old days. It's fun to hear stories about these fools before I knew them. A small group came this year as they changed the weekend at the last minute, but it's still an amazing time and I know B looks forward to it. Saturday skiing was boys day, I decided not to go and let B have fun with his buddies but I went on Sunday. Again B and I have Monday off to hit the slopes! So excited to have another day with B and me having fun.

Here's a pic of last Monday up on the mountains....it's just a fun van of K2 snowboarding. (ps. it was an Astro Van, hehe)
another fun facetime pic with Cameron....God he is getting funny!!

Update From A Mad Runner

This week has been crazy, workout wise and in every other way. Work was nuts, literally working for the weekend. I was home on Monday, sick with something. I must have caught a bug and couldn't shake it over the weekend, even though I slept for about 12 hours straight last Sunday to Monday. But I got to feeling better, thanks for your concern!
Workout wise it has been better. We have been slower at work and I was able to head home at lunch and walk on the treadmill. I also broke out a couple mile runs during the week. I love doing cardio more now ever since getting that new app. My favorite is when you update the meals and then you update your cardio workout and it subtracts the calories you burned and gives you those back to your calorie intake! Yay!
Speaking of the new app, I absolutely love it! I may go over on my calories sometimes or may not workout but even though it still makes me feel like I am accomplishing things. In a weird way it works for me!! So you all should go and get it!

Here's a fun picture of the day!

Update From A Mad Runner

A day early I am going to update you with my workout and new dieting I'm working on (I think we women all know there comes a time when we finally have to watch) what I put in my mouths! Along with doing more cardio I have been working on eating better. Dieting has always been hard for me. It's hard for me to cut out the sweets and cheese. I have heard of Weight Watchers and always thought that would be something I could handle. It doesn't limit you of what you can eat but the portions. One of my other very healthy friends (who is also very active) also told me that portion control is the way to go.
So, I am happy to introduce you all to my new best friend...du du du DA!!! My Fitness Pal! One of my friends told me about this app. It allows you to enter your weight, how active you are, you daily activity and to top it off it will tell you how much calories you should eat to lose weight or if you want to maintain. Then you can enter all your meals, your workouts and water consumption! The best part it has a scanner so you can scan the foods you buy, it'll upload all the nutritional info and serving size and then keeps track of all the calories you have eaten and what you have left. So in a way it is similar weight watchers. It really makes you think about what you are eating and how much "room" you have left to eat during the day. For me it's good because if I am hungry or craving something that I don't necessarily need and then have room for more food or something that would be healthier and can eat more. The downfall realization you get too from how much of something you eat and can try to eat just the serving size. For example I was eating peanut butter for lunch, it was actually filling me up until the afternoon when I have my protein shake, but I was not aware I was using about a half a cup and the serving size is only two tablespoons! When I had to up the serving size and realize how much calories a day that is I was so much more conscience on how much I was using the next day. I want to save up the calories!! It also lets you enter your cardio and weights that you do. The positive on doing cardio is it subtracts from what you ate so you can eat more calories!! hehe.

So all my Android and iPhone friends, check out the app and I think this link will even let you do it all online.

Happy calorie counting!! (I can't believe I even wrote that!)

Update From A Mad Runner

Phew! What a week. I am glad it is over!
A week starting off with a bump in the road and my ass. I have started trying to focus on the diet, which is no bueno for me. B and I did some healthy shopping this weekend and we got me some lean protein shake to try one a day, some more vitamins. I also found a drink on pinterest from Dr. Oz's website on how to get your metabolism back. Eight cups of green tea, tangerine and mint leaves in a mix, drink it all. It's good and easy to make so I'll see if it works. I also bought some kale and I'm going to try to make up some kale chips. I had a coworker who told me it was not good, but I'll see how they turn out. So on word healthy eating (which I have to say was so hard yesterday with the Super Bowl...I made an entire dessert plate and munched on after halftime, oink!)

As far as my workouts though I have to say I really tried to step it up. In the mornings I have been doing a combo of jumping jacks, pushups, mountain climbers, crunches and burpee's. It sucks, I'm barely awake, cold and jumping out the room huffing and puffing. B is like "what do you do in there in the morning!" haha. I can just picture him eating breakfast and watching espn with the funniest look on his face! I think I need to get back to the running routine, and kick cardios ass again so I talked to B and we are going to run the 5k in SLC. I know it's coming up, probably April or May-ish. Plenty of time to get to 3 miles!

Wish us luck!!

Update From A Mad Runner

"All good things must come to an end"
NO I'm not giving up on my workouts, running or anything, but I think my love affair with chocolate must come to an end. I always end up eating really well during the day, usually a salad for lunch, apple, yogurt and granola bars. But the second I get home from work I'm starving and stuff my face with anything I can find, and on Friday that was a half a box of Junior Mints. Ooops.
Jazz vs. Raptors
But my workouts this week have been OK. I have actually ran the last three days, between one and two miles and walking uphill. Thursday I was really motivated and actually ran 2 miles and then did a Nike Training workout. I'm patting myself on the back for that one still!
Ben and I at the Jazz enjoying the free tickets
In other news, Ben and I had free tickets to the Jazz game on Wednesday. Before the season started Ben bought some new Jazz gear and they gave him tickets since he spent a certain amount of money. So we went, assuming we were in the very last row in the upper deck, no worried though because it was free and just fun to do something during the week. We ran into a friend at the game and were just catching up when he informed us that our tickets were actually LOWER bowl! Haha. If he didn't see that Ben and I would have gone all the way to the top of the building and sat there all night! It was also a good double overtime game, would have been great if the Jazz won.
Ben turned 30 this Friday and so we had a big birthday party for him at our house last night! It was so fun especially watching everyone give Ben energy drinks, hopefully it will last him about a month!
A 30 year old can not handle all the excitement
Thanks to everyone who was able to come and celebrate with us, it was an amazing time!!

Update From A Mad Runner

One week until Christmas!! So excited and I hoped that this week would go by so fast....but I'm sure to no ones surprise it was so slow.
Monday: 2.5 miles .25 walk, OH YEAH. Started out strong. I figure whatever I run this week will be good. I'm giving myself a little break (it's my Christmas present to myself;). I also did my ab burner workout after.
Tuesday: No run. I managed to get to the store for some last minute gift buying and the wine store. Guess which one I liked more...it's a tough decision. I got home and B was here. He didn't go to the gym, surprise surprise, no really that is a HUGE surprise. I was begging (;) him to run with me. But in the end I decided not to run either. I did a little workout regimen that I found on pinterest.com, my new fun Web site. It was a plyo workout, abs, arms, jumping jacks and lots of that fun stuff. I also did some leg stretches too. The back of my knee is so sore from running on Monday.
Wednesday: 2 miles, no walk. I was so hungry and felt week so I ran and left!! I had to lower my speed just to make it to the 2 miles mark!
Thursday: 2.5 miles, I really pushed myself today and am so glad I did. Around 1.25 miles I was talking to myself and was going to do 1.5 miles, then started thinking of the rest of the week and how I won't have anytime to run on Friday. Then I talked myself into running 2 miles. Then I started doing the math (which isn't easy when you run) and thought that if I make it 2.5 miles I will only have to make it 2 miles on Saturday. Which I could do, or should be able to do.
Friday we had a Christmas Eve Party go to. So much fun to see some friends, have some cocktails and white elephant gift exchange.
Saturday: According to B it is Christmas! I was trying to tell him that Christmas was not until Sunday, but all day long B was bugging me about opening presents. I distracted him a little by heading to get coffee, had a quick trip to the grocery store and then Barnes and Noble. We got some lunch at the Wing Nutz and then hung out at home, cooked dinner and then opened presents. It was so fun to spend some time with B and me.Also Izzie loved opening her presents.
Sunday: We have B's brother and his girlfriend coming to SLC today. We got up early and I ran 2 miles. I ran a little slower but still got through it. Yay for me!! So excited to meet a goal on such a busy week. Now I just need to get the rest of our dinner ready early, then I just need to warm up the dinner again. Now time to enjoy some movies and "word with friends" with B, we are SO addicted!!
