Down Time

Finally getting Piper on a little bit of a nighttime schedule has given me time to get some stuff done. No not just the dishes or laundry (I can squeeze that in while she's playing, multi tasking;) but the projects I sometimes indulge myself in. Cooking, painting, dreaming up something.
This last week I was able to not only paint two frames, but put together a new bookcase, hang up some decor in Piper's room, start my photo collage down the hall stairs and finally get together my 2012 photo book. Yep I said 2012....got a little behind. Stuff happens.

Since B and I got married I've been putting together a little photo book from Shutterfly with our year in photos. You know about Shutterfly right? It's that photo Web site that always sends those great discount codes in your inbox so you can order about 100 too many pictures of your newborn and other great gifts for family.
I used my photo book discount to get my last year collection of pics together. Here is a link to my album so you can check it out.

Photo Book Tip: Create an adventurous travel photo album at Shutterfly.com.

ps. it needs to be known, I am not this creative. Shutterfly has a time saving option called the simple path, you pick the photos, add to book and botta bing botta boom there you have it. I always use that and then rearrange, delete and add photos from there. A lot more time saving for me and I like to feel it brings out my creative side.

Update From a Mad Runner

This week was a lot of laziness. I have to be honest. I didn't want to do a whole lot and to actually be honest I fell like if I snowboard on the weekends it should be enough for me to not have to do cardio for the rest of the week. Alas I wish it were that easy.
Now I do have to say I did run both Saturday and Sunday. It was so cold out Saturday! B and I didn't go snowboarding as we knew it would be so busy and plus it was freezing out! We then laid low and went to a few movies we wanted to see. Sunday B went snowboarding and I decided to stay home. Even though I knew that it was going to be great snow I had a lot of things on my mind, all my projects I need to finish!! So I was able to run and pick up the rest of the supplies I needed, new shoes and some more protein. Yeah, I sneaked in some shoes. Since it was a beautiful day out today I thought about running outside, BUT I didn't, I think people who run outside are suckers, sorry, but you can judge me because I run on the treadmill. I did run though and ended up back in the clubhouse and enjoyed SATC marathon (seriously I've seen every episode through about 4 times in the last year and a half AND I watch them whenever they are on TV, but they still make me laugh so hard!)

On a side note I have to thank my friend for motivating me to try a new workout class called Ballet Blast. It was a combination of ballet warm up moves, a lot of hip flexor strengthening, some core, muscle, more core and stretching. It was like most of the classes I have taken at 24 Hour Fitness a small combo of SET and Yoga. Although I can not say I would do the class again or not it has me thinking if I want to rejoin 24 Hour Fitness. I really miss doing the workout classes, mostly yoga as I can not get into doing yoga at home alone. Taking that class also made me realize I would really push myself more in the group setting rather than the in my living room watching RHOA among others. But I still don't know if I want to commit to the gym again!

On another side note, B went to the Jazz game with a friend on Friday night and big win for the JAZZ vs HEAT! GO JAZZ

Green Thumb (for projects)

Pinterest has really become a big staple in my daily routine. I check my emails, get update on my blogs and twitter then I am usually on pinterest the rest of my day. Back and forth checking it out. It's a great outlet for recipes, inspiration and projects. I have really gotten crafty these past few weeks. Here's a cute idea I found online and wanted to try out.

Plain shirt (I had a black shirt from Forever 21 that I no longer wore)
fabric paint (Joann's about 5 dollars, and about 20 minutes of looking. Holy crap Joann's is a madhouse)
sponge brush
freezer paper (it's expensive, and it took me about 3 stores to find it, but you can really use it for ANYTHING)

1. cut out heart with freezer paper
2. put in on the shirt
3. paint away!

so easy and if I can do it anyone can do it. I let the shirt dry about a day before I wore it.
