Three Years and Counting...

Three years...more like eleven. Is that a bad thing?
B and I celebrated our anniversary this past week and this weekend. Our anniversary was on Wednesday, where we went out for sushi at a place I haven't been to before and then home to hit the hay! We had plans to hit up the town but after my stomach was stuffed with great food I barely made it home before my peepers were closed tight.

Friday we did something new and went up to Snowbird and watch their Family Flick "Gremlins". I don't think I've ever seen the entire movie..just bits and pieces and Loved to see all the people enjoying the classic movie.
Since we're not much for parting anymore we headed up to Park City this weekend to have a night away from our crazy dogs and just Salt Lake in general. We spent the afternoon walking around and then decided to check in and relax. We had a great time away, and the party animals we are we spent the entire night in our room! The only time we left was to get a movie from red box. We even ate in our room! It was so much fun.

Olympic Party And Others

The weekend is such a refresher. Especially from last week. I don't know why it was so long but I was thankful for the weekend and am ready to get to work today.

As all of you know the Olympics started this last Friday. B and I decided to through together a small impromptu get together with some good friends. Did anyone else watch the opening ceremony? Was anyone else as lost as I was during it. Highlight of the ceremony was the guy behind the Queen who totally milked the 30 seconds of air time he had! SO funny.

Saturday was a good day. We got up early, did a workout, got my hair did, picked my friends garden, got my coffee and then hit the couch for some relaxing before a night out to celebrate my birthday sister's early birthday party. It's always a good time at the Westerner with these crazy people.

Sunday was LAZY even for me.

Maxi's A Do

For my birthday last August I bought myself some treats from Express. That's when I got this skirt, it was when all the bloggers were getting these longs skirts and I knew I had to have one. I found it on sale and they only had a small, but it was such a great deal I decided I would try it out. And try I did, 8  months later. Surprised was I when I realized that it was long enough for me to wear wedge shoes with it and not to mention it makes my ass look GREAT! B's mom and step dad were in town and we spent a beautiful spring day in Park City walking around, checking out stores and then ate lunch at the Stein Erickson lodge at Deer Valley. It was so nice out we were even able to enjoy a glass of wine on the outside patio after our meal. This will be a huge staple in my spring and summer weekend gear.

Weekend Activities

I've been following The Glitter Guide since it started. I found the founder, Taylor Sterling's, blog and followed her while she started it. They have amazing articles and every Friday post 5 Things to try during the weekend. I try to do some of them because they are just fun things to do especially for the weekends!

Here's a little showing of our weekend activities!

Friday I went to a bread party with a good friend. What is a bread party you ask? It's where you eat a lot of good cheese dip, enjoy good dessert treat, drink a lot of white wine and meet new people! Oh and while we were gossiping a great cook was "teaching" us how to make focaccia bread, which we enjoyed enthusiastically!
In doing all this I also wore my new peach skinny's with my new light sweater.

I already painted my nails neon yellow on Thursday, which I unfortunately do not have in a lipstick. I wanted to funk it up a little so I added a little bright pink with it. This was inspired by the 5 Things to try as well as I think it will definitely make spring/summer come a little faster!

Like I posted yesterday, I got my fitness on this weekend of course. It makes it a lot easier when I slip on my tie dye noosa's! They even glow in the dark!!

Because I work in a place where I can't wear the cutest clothes, so as the season is changing and warming up I like to enjoy wearing items that generally sit in my closet.  I also tried to funk it up with the jewelry and this Sunday I tried out layering necklaces. I don't know if I did it right but I will give myself an A for effort!

love this skirt!

Weekends are my Fav! Just like everyone I'm sure...I hope you all had a good weekend and here's to looking for the next!

Update From A Mad Runner

Training has come to a halt!
Last week was not a great training week for the half, and not good timing as it is coming up!
I think going back to work in the office may be part of it. My rotation position is over and I'm back to my little cubicle. Morning work outs are out of the question and after work I was not feeling the runs.
This weekend I was able to get a little longer run in but not where I should be at, I'll try to pull it out this week!

B and I had a very relaxing weekend. Movies, movies, football and movies.
Friday night our newlywed friends had a housewarming party. They purchased a beautiful home and have been painting and decorating and showed it off on Friday. They have done such a beautiful job on it, it makes me motivated to decorate our place!
We slept in both Saturday and Sunday, watched movies and hung out! How boring awesome! I do not want to go to work tomorrow!!
We also hit up a football game on Saturday night. A high school football game, it was so much fun! We were there until midnight and it was so nice out. We'll have to do that again for sure!

New Moon

Having another great weekend of shopping, movies and laying around makes the weeks go by so fast and the weekends linger! It seems the only thing I am looking forward too are weekends like this. We are lucky though and things are on the up and up as we just had our first big snow last night. Nine new inches up in the mountains and nothing on the roads this morning to make for a nasty commute. Well, not for Ben and I as least. The early morning travel didn't have it quite as nice.
Saturday we did a little shopping around. We checked out some snowshoes at REI. We met some people that go and we want to start to do some hiking up in the mountains.
Sunday we watched the Vikings game and the I hit up "New Moon" with some friends. Once we were out of the theatre, the snow was flying. We had a normal lazy Sunday night watching TV and reading. But I did still have time to test out a new meal for Ben and I. I had a left over steak and thawed out to make a pasta sauce with it. I took some red and green peppers, cut them up and sauteed the steak, peppers and mushrooms in some butter and garlic. I then made a cream sauce with some white wine, cream and shredded cheese. It cooked very fast and then just boiled up some noodles and enjoy! Ben loves that I have been trying new meals for us to try.
Up next...Thanksgiving in ND. Can not wait!!
