And....We're Back At It

Hello again cute outfit! You know when you actually try to look nice when your coworkers tell you you actually got dressed up for once. Yep, a coworker noticed that I actually tried to look nice...I have to mention that it was a "he". They never notice anything so I must have really been looking a fool for a "he" to say something!

Scarves are my friend in the winter (it helps keep my long neck warm) but I've noticed a lot of blogs with these thinner summer scarves. Even with the 100 degree weather I wanted to try it out and not only was it a fun addition it was surprisingly not too hot.

ps. i did not wear the heels to work because i unfortunately can't so i had black flats with the cool ankle strap (they're cool for flats i swear!) but i wanted to take the pic with a cute heel on since i never get to wear them! Oh and my good friend took my pics for me!

Summer Lovin'

So it's been a while since I've done an outfit post. So here we go.
I like summer I don't love it. I know, I know it's weird. Most people think I'm crazy, but the way I see it fall is the bet season. It's still nice out but you need some layers, no jackets yet. There's college football and tailgating. Then winter is right after, which since I've moved to Utah (and only since I've lived in Utah) has come to be my favorite season. It's not as cold here as you would think and we do more in the winter than we do any other time of the year.
But this year I've been trying to enjoy the summer more, I've been trying to find a "summer" hobby. But I don't like to run, expecially when it's so hot, I don't bike, hike, garden. We've played tennis, golf and gotten in some pool time this year which has been fun. So if you have any ideas for summer let me know!

Anyways it's been about 100 the past few days so I thought these floral pants would bring my summer spirits up during this hot weather.

Back To Life...

Back to reality.
Today's the last day of our NoDak vacation and it's a little bittersweet. It's going to be hard going back to work tomorrow but it's going to be nice to sleep in my own bed and best of all I get to see my pups!
Yesterday was a nice day for B and I we just bummed around, worked out, enjoyed the sun and a dinner with B's mom.
For the majority of my life I was, and still am, a sweatpants type of girl and didn't push the limit in my outfits on a daily basis. Like I wrote about yesterday blogs have helped me be more creative and spice up my daily outfits. So here is a before and after pic of what I wore yesterday.
morning attire. post workout and post tanning
evening attire dinner at my MIL
new H&M shirt and my J Bella pants, also my comfy (believe it or not) Steven by Steve Madden shoes.

Green With Envy

Yesterday was the big day. My big bros wedding day. It was gorgeous out and the wedding party, ceremony and bride and groom just made the day even brighter. Its always great to see family and friends but even better to see my brother so happy. Nothing is better than knowing someone you love is as happy as my brother and his new bride. Congrats to both of you!

Before and after all changed up for the big day. Green dress won the votes!

The 70s

Does anyone else think that when you're on vacation time goes so fast? I know we don't go back until Tuesday but I know these last few days will just fly by.
Friday was one of those days. We finally got my passport applied for, breakfast made and then ready for the day to start, but we were waiting for my sister and family to get here and it felt like forever! Then the afternoon just flew by after they arrived.
I love these black pants I found. Kohls LC brand on sale, best find in a while.

Ps it's my bros wedding day and I'll post my winning dress tomorrow!

Mint for you?

I don't think I need to even mention how popular mint green is right now. So when I came across this great oversized mint green sweater at Gap a few weeks ago I snatched it right up and have been wearing it non stop since we got back to the frozen tundra. Please cross your fingers it warms up for us!

Canadian Tuxedo

It's been an while since I've updated the ol blog. After three weeks away for work and now another 10 days away from home I think I have good reason. But while I'm home I decided I'll update you with what I pack for a trip up North. First, North Dakota is a state all in its own. It's not the home of Mt. Rushmore it's not the badlands. It's home of plains and a lot of nice beer drinking folk. Second, it's not Canada, eh. But like Canada ,and since we're neighbors, I did decide to rock a Canadian Tuxedo while here. Most would require something fancy like graduation (which was this last weekend so congrats grads) or a wedding but I decided to keep my ensemble a little more cas and went with the light/dark contrast in my denim and accessorize it with some owls and teal. Not to mention (I actually don't think I need to mention) my fav new "boots". (I still can't believe I was complimented on my shoes as though I was wearing some Cowboy boots! They're my "kicks" for crying out loud!)
But with our further ado my tux.

Floral It Is

Love me some funky pants.  I may have an addition to any type of pant other than jeans or khaki (I actually don't like khaki pants, but for work I do have a few, rarely worn)
I bought these pants a while ago from H&M and wore them out to eat with my in-laws. Since they have been sitting in my closet but I have a feeling they will make their way our this summer quite a few times!

"What I Wore"

Stripes! Who doesn't love them right now. Here I styled two striped sweaters. The first is a daytime look I wore to brunch with my hubby on Sunday. The second is a work look, I got inspiration here from Tara at Mix and Match Fashion

I submitted these looks to Jessica Quirk for her What I Wore Stripes Challenge. She gave me the inspiration to create two different looks. Don't for get to check out her site, she has great style and can pull off the cutest outfits.

Singing the Blues

One problem I have when I shop is I want to make sure that everything I buy is versatile and something that I will use and it's not a waste of money. We've all been there, buying something you may love but not practical (like a mid-length tutu see through type skirt found at the consignment store for next to nothing that is still hanging in my closet never been worn but I had to buy is because it's SO Carrie Bradshaw) so I usually give my self the restriction of buying something that I can merge into my work clothes but also will be able to wear in other ways as well. I want to get the most wear out of my clothes because I am one to get something and then only wear it once or not at all. For instance I will find something I want but wait so long to purchase because I don't want it to be a waste. Then, I usually purchase said items when they are out of style!
Since H&M moved into SLC I have been able to find some of the best items to add to my wardrobeIt's so fun going there because they have amazing pieces that I am able to wear to work and then out in about for fun, date nights and other events. And because it's not expensive I don't ever have buyers remorse even if it's something that I may not be wearing to work or something I only want to wear for a fun event.

In saying all that I found these nice blue skinny pants at H&M for 12.95. They are amazing for work because they don't drag on the ground and are high wasted (it makes me feel skinny;) and also are good for a fun night out to give a little pop in color.
